About me

I am trained  in Person-Centred counselling and  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Using an integrative approach it offers an infusion of a person's personality and needs - integrating the effective, behavioural, cognitive, and physiological systems within one person, as well as addressing social and spiritual aspects. Essentially, integrative counsellors are not only concerned with what works, but why it works - tailoring therapy to their clients and not the client to the therapy.  By using Integrative counselling to promote healing and facilitate wholeness to ensure that all levels of a person's being and functioning (mental, physical and emotional health) are maximised to their full potential. Clients must be committed to self-exploration and open to identifying what factors in their life are perpetuating problems, and/or are causing current concerns.

I have experience of Mindfulness and Solution-focused therapy which is beneficial in supporting individuals to manage their anxiety and depression.

I deliver a professional and ethical counselling service to adults tailored to meet the individual, offering short or long term therapy sessions in a safe and private space to be able to talk without fear or embarrassment about concerns or issues. I know it is not always easy to take the first step in accessing therapy and being able to find a space that you can explore concerns and issues safely.

I am authentic and comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups. I have excellent emphatic listening, verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Taking an holistic approach to life, I realise that it can take a lot to make and sustain changes. Using meditation, mindfulness practices and exercise amongst other self-care techniques, can help you to stay motivated and focused. Which is why I believe using an integrated approach to counselling is useful because it empowers clients in helping them to explore and recognise patterns of behaviour that need to be addressed through change and the setting of new goals.

My home-based counselling room is within a five-minute walk from public transport links and easily reachable. I do not publish my address on here but, once we have agreed a first appointment, I will give you all the information you need.

I use a collaborative approach for which you will be able to gain insight and awareness that will help you to overcome painful thoughts and feelings, increase your self-confidence and enhance your ability to cope with difficult circumstances. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools and techniques it will deal with overwhelming problems which affect your behaviour, thoughts, feelings and cause physical sensations by breaking them down into smaller parts and helping break the vicious cycle which causes a lot of the negative patterns that you feel trapped in. Whilst also using a person-centred approach keeping you at the centre of your counselling journey enabling you to achieve your aspirations tailored to your circumstances.
